This section describes how we calculate refunds and outlines our policy. Our refunds policy does not affect your statutory rights.

We will refund a cancelled skip in full providing at least 24 hours notice is provided. No refund will be payable once the Skip has been delivered to the scheduled address.

Order cancelation must be confirmed by telephone or via email with our sales office.

If an On Road Permit is arranged by us on your behalf, the Local Authority will not refund this fee and you will still be liable for payment.

Note that we reserve the right to charge for a Wasted Journey should our driver arrive at the delivery address but are unable to drop or collect the skip.

  • We aim to deliver within 24 hours of request (or on the day specified)
  • We aim to collect within 48 hours of request (or on the day specified)
  • Free no obligation quote
  • Value for money – we regularly check our competitors' prices
  • Peace of mind – Environmentally friendly company
  • Friendly, experienced staff and drivers

Skip Hire Advice & Help

Our online ordering process is designed to make hiring a skip as easy as possible. If you have any questions, read our FAQs, or feel free to speak to our team, or email us, for a bit of extra advice.

Skips cannot be placed on roads or verges without the appropriate permit from a local authority.

Trotters Skips are happy to organise road-side permits on your behalf.

In England, it takes 3 working days to obtain a road-side permit and costs £25.

In Scotland, it takes 14 working days to obtain a permit, but they are free.

Please bear this in mind when booking a skip and advise our team if a permit will be needed, or if there are any potential access issues with placing a skip on your land (such as limited space in gateways, narrow lanes).
